General Conference is for children too!
Twice a year we are able to listen to the prophet and other general authorities of the Church speak to us from Salt Lake City during the General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The church leaders give us counsel and remind us of things we should be doing to improve our lives and become more Christlike. We are so blessed to be able to listen to them speak to us.
There are many ways we can learn from the words of our leaders after the conference is over. We can listen and watch their talks all over again on the official website of the church at this address: http://lds.org/conference/languages/0,6353,310-1,00.html . From this website, you can download the talks as mp3 files or you can print the words and use them for personal study. Those who are deaf can even watch in American Sign Language!
My favorite part of General Conference was the talk given by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland on Sunday, October 4, 2009, during the afternoon session. In his declaration of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, there was pure power and a sure witness of the Holy Ghost. His voice penetrated my heart and I know the words he spoke are true.
I know it might seem like most of what the leaders say during conference is for grownups, but I know there are many, many messages that are for children too!
What was your favorite part of General Conference?
